Dolly Cherise was once an ordinary doll on the dresser of a little girl’s room. The girl gave her a cherry barrette. The girl gave her a name.

Years later, Dolly was carried up to the attic with the other toys, boxes, dresses, letters, and forgotten things. She waited there for a very long time.

One moonlit night, light touched the cherry barrette, and Dolly awakened. Now she reads, writes, sings, watches over Bunny, and records the things she cannot bear to let disappear.
